Requirements :

  • Pharmacy assistant (Post Basic) qualification or equivalent. Registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant Post Basic in an institutional sector. Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook). Knowledge and experience in RxSolution. Basic communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical processes. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies. Record keeping and knowledge of drug supply management. Work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of the Central Chronic Medicines Dispensing and Distribution (CCMDD) program. Willingness to participate in overtime over weekend or as the need arises.

Duties :

  • Stock control and the distribution of finished products. Pre-packing Manufacturing and compounding. Dispensing of prescriptions in accordance with Good Pharmacy Practice. The provision of information and instructions regarding the correct use of medicines. Participation and planning of health awareness sessions. The implementation of project in the department and overall project management. Maintenance of records and documentation as per departmental SOPs. Training and development of self and basic pharmacists’ assistants. Administrative tasks and record keeping.
