Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an exciting opportunity for a Finance/ Accounting Graduate to join our SAP Finance Team for intake 2023. To Respond to and assist any Dis-Chem Stakeholder with any query related to the SAP Finance including Store, Head-Office Staff, Managers, Directors, Suppliers, Customer, Auditors, Banks (including but not limited to ABSA, FNB Namibia, Nedbank, Diners & Amex) and Consultants (including but not limited to UCS, SAP, CKS. Epi-Use, BEST, Lexmark, Intellection, Innervation)

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate
  • B Accounting, N.Diploma Financial Accounting & Bcom Financial Management

Job Description: 

SAP Finance Maintenance:
  • Maintain the integrity and functionality of the SAP finance module through:
    • Creation of Business Requirement Documents (BRD) to improve or enhance processes and reporting within the SAP Finance Module
  • Perform and documenting detailed testing of all these improvement, enhancement and reports
  • Create training material and provide training to users on these improvements, enhancements and reports
  • Maintain, change, and support all relevant SAP Finance Master Data, this includes:
    • Debtors (Including Accounting clerks, Payment Terms & Credit Management)
    • Creditors (Including Accounting Clerks, Payment Terms)
    • Payroll (Symbolic Accounts – Balance Sheet, Expense, Vendors & Customers)
    • Assets, General Ledger, Cost Centre, Profit Centre
    • Banking (Including Band administration – Creating, Maintaining and Deleting Bank users)
  • Maintain, Change and support all relevant SAP Finance Processes and Reporting, this includes:
    • Debtors (including invoices, credit memo, receipts, payments, statements, year-end processing)
    • Creditors (including Readsoft nontrade, trade and intercompany invoices and credit memo, BEST statements, reconciliations and remittances, payment receipts, year end processing)
    • Assets (Acquisitions, transfers, retirements, AUC settlements, Depreciation Runs, ear end processing)
    • General ledger (monitor cash and sales files and clear cash clearing accounts, journal uploads, inter company postings, VAT queries, year-end processing)
    • Cost Centre, Profit Centre (Load budgets)
    • Banking (new posting rules, statement uploads for ABSA, deleting statements uploaded incorrectly Nedbank and FNB)
Reporting:
  • Give regular feedback and provide assistance to the SAP Manager, Finance Manager and Dis-Chem Directors including the IT and Projects Executives
  • Be Security conscious and alert and notify security and management of any suspicious actions or persons
Customer Service:
  • Establish and maintain a sound relationship with al Dis-Chem stakeholders.
  • Ensure frequent communication with al Dis-Chem stakeholders both verbally and in writing regarding matters relating to the SAP Finance
  • Provide a friendly and efficient knowledgeable service to all Dis-Chem stakeholders visiting or phoning the department.
  • Assist Dis-Chem stakeholders with general queries as the come in or direct their queries to the relevant people if you are unable to assist with the necessary documentation
  • Inform management of any discrepancies an unresolved matter
  • Ensure no unauthorised person enter SAP office

 

Competencies: 

Essential: 
  • Ability to perform basic accounting calculations and basic understanding of accounting
  • Finds solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to escalate the problem and what level to escalate it to.
  • Microsoft Office Packages – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Business financial skills
  • Trustworthy and honest
  • Self-starter, diligent, accurate, attention to detail
  • Be deadline orientated, and have good time management skills
